Master Defensive Tactics Instructor, Abdul Mohamed, is the founder of Black Tiger Tactical (www.blacktigertactical.tv) and the founder of National Corrections Tactical Officers Association. A Use of Force Expert, Abdul has an impressive and specialized background in the fields of Law Enforcement, Corrections, Private Security, Self Defense, Martial Arts, and U.S. Military Instructions, as well as numerous certifications and prestigious awards.
In his expert role as the director of operations for Black Tiger Tactical, Abdul makes use of his extensive experience in his preparation and implementation of the program’s training curriculum. Abdul coordinates the services, programs, and training not only locally in WA State but nationally, and internationally as well.
In addition to highly specialized teaching and training, Abdul is also responsible for evaluating both instructors and the various programs of Black Tiger Tactical.
In Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Security for over ten years, Abdul has attended Instructor Development level 1, Instructor Development Level 2, a Field Training Officer, has received training in both Middle Management and First Level Supervision, and is a member of the King County Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T) Committee. As an officer, Abdul has excellent communication skills and is proficient in field related technologies, including specialized computer software programs.
Abdul also served as a Tactical Officer and Training Coordinator for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission in Burien, WA. In this role, Abdul taught and prepared the core curriculum for the Basic Corrections Officer Academy and performed evaluations of instructors and Academy programs. Abdul also taught Defensive Tactics for the Basic Police Officer Academy in Burien, WA, and as well for the WA State Department of Corrections CORE Academies. Abdul also is recognized and certified Master Instructor by Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
Abdul came to the United States with the unique experience of having served nearly two years as an elite Personal Bodyguard for the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia. While living in Saudi Arabia, Abdul was also a Martial Arts Instructor, specializing in Street Self Defense. He possesses a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu and a 5th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Abdul is a former Instructor for the U.S. Military at Fort Lewis, WA. Making use of the latest technologies, Abdul has a multi-media approach to adult training and instruction, tailoring his curriculum and teaching methods to meet the various levels of proficiency according to the mission requirements of the commanders.
Throughout his distinguished service and career, Abdul Mohamed has won several prestigious awards and appointments. In 2011, he was the recipient of TWO Distinguished Service Medals. In 2008, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal, and in 2006, Abdul received the Most Valuable Police Officer Award from the Fife Police Reserve Academy. The Academy also presented Abdul with the Best Partner Award, with a 2nd Place EVOC Award and with two 3rd Place Academic Awards. Abdul has been named Master Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Fife Police Reserve Academy in both 2007 and 2008 as well as Lead Master Defensive Tactics Instructor for the King County Advanced Team.
